A Contemporary Redesign For LeMieux National Championship
In recent years we have seen British Dressage go from strength to strength, now with more than 19,000 members, the love for this sport doesn’t seem to be slowing down! LeMieux National Championships celebrated 31 new champions at Somerford Park, Cheshire over four days of dressage with some of the best displays of dressage in the UK.
Their four day event was a huge success with plenty of action in three arenas over all four days, featuring over 700 combinations, with lots of dressage competition to choose from. Current and future top dressage riders competed for the coveted title of LeMieux National Champion. The popular KBIS Young Horse championships showcased up and coming talent, and the Silver championships showcased the talented amateur riders alongside many more levels and classes. This event has been running for over 30 years and counting with a loyal group of sponsors, as their championship status has evolved over that time.
Since 2016 EFX has supplied British Dressage with a variety of trophies, and many of their sponsors have then gone on to choose EFX for their trophies. In collaboration with LeMieux, Maggie Jackman, British Dressage sponsorship manager discussed moving to a more bespoke and modern design for their trophies. LeMieux as a brand has evolved from its traditional roots to the most cutting edge style-led brand in equestrian sport. And they wanted the trophy to reflect that. An evolution of design and brand.
Silhouette Of A Horse
Our designer Liz created the fabulous design, working with Maggie and Rob LeMieux to decide the final design and the client was delighted. They had asked for a contemporary horse’s head and were so amazed with how the 3D aspect of the award brought the horse to life from the original drawings! Rob LeMieux was “blown away” by the finished awards, when he saw them all lined up before they were presented over the last two days of the event.
To create the horses head award, EFX used waterjet cut Polished 24ct Gold Plated Aluminium combined with Black Anodised Aluminium for one design, Black and Gold Anodised Aluminium for another and Polished Nickel Plated Aluminium and Black anodised for the Silver designs. All with laser engraved detailing.
Sponsorship manager Maggie Jackman said her experience of working with EFX was “excellent” and they were sure they’d used the right company with feedback they have had on the trophies.
